Lyrics booklet artwork for the band Northern Oak, and their debut album "Tales from Rivelin"... this has been one big project, so hopefully the results are worth it!
Greippi! I've missed you! Glad to see you're back all of a sudden.
The photo for "Maiden" creates this expectation, like some maiden is really about to walk through that arch, especially because the other photos are so true to the song titles (like "Sun Behind the Hill," which is a beautiful photo). You may have overkilled the manipulation in the foreground of that one, though. The light doesn't look like light any more; it's reminiscent of misused transparency on the eraser. I get the effect you're going for (I think), but it doesn't look too much like light is wrapping around, mystically or no.
Good attention to the lyrics in "Madness of the Feral Moon," particularly with the "heedless town," but it doesn't seem chaotic or, literally, mad enough to fit the words. However, I don't know what the music itself sounds like, so maybe it fits better than I think. It seems like the whole photo should be darker, though, since it's such a dark song - currently it looks like broad daylight.
Hope that helps... and I'm sorry if you've already reached the final product and now there are new errors to see. I don't think I've properly conveyed that, overall, the final product looks great! You clearly put lots of effort into it and, if I were in the band, I'd like it as much as I do now!
